When buying running shoes...

Below we've put together a few Tips for your next sport shoe purchase.

  • Try at least three models of different brands.
  • Shoes of different brands differ a lot in the way they fit. There are wider and the narrower shoes, the longer and the shorter, the higher and the lower. Choose the brand that fits the shape of your feet best!!!
  • Your toes must never touch the tip of your shoes. In front there has to be an empty space of half a cm.
  • The shoes must be tried on standing up.
  • Never judge the fit of a shoe sitting down. Walk around and remember to wear the socks you usually wear for training and to lace the shoe fully.
  • Don't change for the sake of change.
  • If you found your old pair good, go for a pair with the same or similar technical characteristics.
  • Don't give importance to colours and glitz.
  • Don't be influenced by the look!! If the flashiest shoe staring at you from the shelf is the one you always dreamt of, but the other dull looking one fits better, don't let your ego decide - opt for the second one... your feet will thank you. (probably even your wallet).
  • The most expensive is not always the best.
  • Shoes that cost over €120 are not necessarily better than those of a little less. You sometimes pay more for fashion and novelty than for technical design.

Always go to a specialised shop. It is important to indicate the use you intend to make of the shoes and for what specific sport you are buying the shoes. Always take your old shoes with you. From the wear and tear of the sole and from the deformation of the insole, the experts will be able to retreive precious information regarding your type of support and consequently they will know how best to indicate the models that fit your needs.
